Belmond-Klemme Volleyball on Win Streak Will Host West Hancock Tuesday

The Belmond-Klemme volleyball team is heating up in the second half of season as their currently on a four match win streak as they prepare to host West Hancock in a Top of Iowa West match on Tuesday.

Belmond-Klemme (14-6, 4-2 TIC-West) went 4-1 at the Bishop Garrigan tournament on Saturday, that included a notable win over #2(1A) Saint Ansgar 2-1. The Broncos last conference match was a 3-0 loss at Forest City on September 24th. Two leaders that have helped rally the team are senior Adasyn Lamb with 223 kills (most in Top of Iowa West) and senior Shaylee Aguilera with 410 assists (most in Top of Iowa West). 

B-K Head Coach Leigh Faaborg on the impact of the senior group’s mentorship on program success this season.

We have had a nice group of kids come back and set the tone for the newer kids on the court, which has been really important for us,” says Faaborg. “We have some new players playing in the outside and right position. They’ve done a nice job with that core group, keeping the intensity high, helping kids get used to new positions and bringing kids along with them.”

West Hancock (0-19, 0-5 TIC West) went 0-5 at the Bishop Garrigan tournament on Saturday. The Eagles last conference match was a 3-0 loss at home to Forest City on September 17th. The Eagles are led by Charlie Bruggeman with 68 and Lauryn Johnson with 67 kills apiece.

The Broncos won 2-0 over West Hancock at Bishop Garrigan tournament on Saturday. 

First serve is at 6:30 p.m. in Belmond.
