The #7 (2A) Aplington-Parkersburg volleyball team will play its final NICL-Central match of the season when it hosts Columbus Catholic Tuesday. It’ll also be Senior Night.

One of the seniors, setter Bella Buseman, recently surpassed a milestone by recording her 1,500th career assist.

“I will be honest, I was a setter, so she is the one that I ride the hardest,” Head Coach Candace Kleespies says. “And she knows that and she embraces it, but she also knows that I’m her biggest cheerleader and I’m gonna be the first one there to congratulate her. It helps that she’s had the hitters that she’s had this last two years, and then her passers are just giving her some really good balls this year. But then you gotta be the one to find those hitters in the right moments and she’s doing that for us. She’s done this now in only a year and a half. Last year was her first year starting, and so that’s a huge accomplishment and says a lot about her.”

AP (21-5, 1-2 NICL-C) is coming off a 4-1 outing at Saturday’s tournament at Dunkerton. They’ll go for their first Central win since Thursday, September 5 against Hudson.

Columbus (6-15, 0-3 NICL-C) hasn’t competed well against league competition, entering winless against teams from all divisions of the NICL. They went 2-4 at Saturday’s tournament at Cedar Falls.

The first serve will be at 7:30 p.m.
