Local law enforcement is working with school officials after an alleged vague threat was made Monday at Hampton-Dumont High School.
This is Hampton-Dumont Superintendent Aaron Becker.
“We wanted to inform parents and guardians that we knew that there was an alleged vague threat and that we were investigating with local law enforcement and taking necessary local security measures for students and staff safety. And, you know, safety is our number one priority for our kids and our staff. We want kids and families to know that coming to school is a safe place to be. But you know, in this day and age, that any time that we receive any type of information that could be concerning, we take it seriously. And we’re going to look into it in accordance with our policies and procedures. We’re going to talk to local law enforcement, just look through what we all have for information, and then take action as necessary.”
Becker says normal operations are continuing at the high school, and more updates will be provided on the investigation as soon as more information becomes available.
