Officials in the Hampton-Dumont School District were made aware of an alleged threat at the very end of the school day on Monday that originated from the high school. The actual evidence of this threat was reported by a student. At the time of discovery, the student in question was already removed from campus and has not been allowed in the facility.

After further investigation of students by law enforcement and district officials, H-D Superintendent Aaron Becker says the threat has been deemed as credible based on all the information gathered. Due to the district’s legal obligation to maintain student confidentiality, the district cannot share further details at this time.

Becker says the Hampton-Dumont School District will not tolerate threats of any nature, especially when they disrupt the school day and impact the safety of students and staff.

Becker adds that the district is encouraging parents to remind their children about their choices on social media and text messaging. Any messages that could impact school safety will be addressed immediately.
