The Clarksville football team will take a two game win streak on the road, in their return to district play at GMG on Friday.

Clarksville (4-2, 2-1 8-4) won 60-24 in a non-district matchup and their homecoming game over Turkey Valley last week. The Indians will look to keep their offense on a roll after rushing for 276 rushing yards and seven touchdowns in their win over Turkey Valley. Lead back Nathan Moon rushed for 241 yards and a career high six touchdowns in their win over the Trojans. Moon currently leads the district on the season in both rushing yards (956) and rushing touchdowns (17).

Clarksville Head Coach Darren Bohlen on preparing for a young GMG team and playing to strengths.

“They’re kind of rebuilding a little bit, playing some younger guys and they haven’t had much success. We’re going to prepare as if it’s any other game and we’ve got to work on the little things to get better,” says Bohlen. “We have just got to keep improving. Then continue to do what we do best and that is play good football on the run game, and on the defensive side we’ve got to play as a team where all eight guys run to the football. We have emphasized that this week.”

GMG (0-5, 0-3 8-4) lost 58-0 at Tripoli in a district game last week. The Wolverines rely on their run game with 708 rushing yards this season. Easton Sash leads production with 307 rushing yards and four touchdowns. The offense has struggled to score, being held to 14 points or less in four of five games this season.

The Indians are amongst the best in the district in forcing turnovers with 11 total (six fumbles and five interceptions) entering week six.

Clarksville has won three straight in the series.

Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. in Garwin.
