The Iowa Falls-Alden football team will look to continue its rise after 2-0 start to district play as they host West Marshall for homecoming game on Friday. The Cadets will look for their first ever win over the Trojans.

The win over the Vikings was the Cadets best all-around performance of the season, with 386 total yards of offense and a defensive stand for the shutout. Head Coach Eric Walkingstick on managing the adrenaline storm of a homecoming game and taking advantage of abilities.
“We’ve got to keep our head above water, survive the adrenaline storm, and hopefully we have enough experience that we can keep churning and take things over there,” says Walkingstick. “As we move forward in district play, we understand the importance of stepping up, asserting what we can do and trying to take advantage of what we’re able to do. Hitting district play has been huge. Coming out 2-0 in district play, we’re just going to try to keep building on that and keep going from there.”
West Marshall (4-1, 2-0 2A-6) pulled away for a 45-13 win at home over Jesup. The Trojans have the second best rushing offense in the district with 1,093 yards. Senior dual-threat quarterback Vincent Clawson leads with 507 passing yards, 168 rushing yards and nine total touchdowns. The Trojans also present a challenge in the passing game with a district leading 11 interceptions.
West Marshall won last year’s meeting 38-21.
Kickoff is at 7:30 p.m. in Iowa Falls.
