The Hampton-Dumont-CAL and North Butler cross country teams will enter their final stretch of races ahead of their conference meets next week, as both teams take the course at Lake Mills Invite on Monday.
For H-D-CAL this will be their final race before hosting the North Central Conference meet on October 15th. For North Butler this will be their second to last meet before the Top of Iowa meet on October 17th.
H-D-CAL’s last meet was Thursday as they hosted their home invite at Maynes Grove. The Bulldogs turned in seven top 25 times between the girls and boys. The girls were led by MacKenzy Valley in 11th in 22:55 and Lily Hambly was 14th with a season best time of 23:26.6. For the boys Conner Miller crossed inside the top 20 in 17th place in 19:30 and William Vosburg was 22nd in 20:29 on Thursday.
North Butler’s last meet was September 30th at Garner-Hayfield-Ventura. The girls top time was by Cora Barnett in 24th place in 23:52. The boys had two runners cross the finish line in the top 12, with Ezra Almelien with a new PR time of 17:12 and Trager Pecha with a new season record time of 17:56.5.
Other teams at the meet will include Clear Lake Classical, Forest City, North Union, Northwood-Kensett, Rockford and West Hancock.
The meet begins at 4:30 p.m. at Rice Lake Golf & Country Club near Lake Mills.
