The Hampton-Dumont-CAL and North Butler cross country teams set multiple new PR’s and season best times enroute to top 15 placings at Lake Mills Invite on Monday.
The H-D-CAL girls placed first with a 23 and the boys were third with a 75 in the team race. The Bulldogs had a combined three season best times and two PR times at the invite. For the girls in third place was Brooklyn Valley with a PR time of 22:05.6 (previous best 23:24.5), in fifth was MacKenzy Valley with a 22:14.7, Lily Hambly ran a season best time of 22:43.7 in seventh, Jordan Valley had a PR time of 22:54.4 in ninth place (previous best 23:23.2), and Marlee Maas crossed the finish line with a season best time of 24:14.6 in 15th place. The HD-CAL boys were paced by a season best run by Conner Miller in 18:32.2 in 11th place.
The North Butler boys placed second with a 44 in the team race. The Bearcats had three runners with PR’s and a season best time at the meet. The Bearcat girls were led by a PR run by Cora Barnett in 23:38 (previous best 23:52) in 13th place. For the boys Ezra Almelien led the pack with a PR of 16:47.8 for third place (previous best 17:12), Trager Pecha had a season best time of 17:47 in sixth place, Carl Shew ran a PR time of 18:43 for 12th (previous best 19:27.4), and Alex Almelien finished 15th in 18:59.
H-D-CAL’s next meet will be the North Central Conference meet on October 15th. North Butler’s next meet will be at Forest City on October 14th.
