Monday at 11:38am the Mason City Fire Department was called out on the report of a house fire at 422 29th Street Southwest. No injuries reported.
Upon arrival, fire crews found light smoke venting from the structure, with the fire being found in the kitchen. The fire was quickly extinguished.
Upon further investigation, it was determined that the fire was accidental, caused by a candle.
Fire crews were on the scene for just over one hour.
