Clarksville Football Visits Meskwaki Settlement in Regular Season Finale on Thursday

The Clarksville football team will look to build momentum for the postseason as they wrap up their regular season slate a day early with a visit to Meskwaki Settlement on Thursday.  The game was moved up to Thursday due to an official shortage.

Clarksville (5-3, 3-2 8-4) lost 49-8 to #5 (8) Gladbrook-Reinbeck last week. Nathan Moon continues to cover ground in a hurry amongst the best in 8-Player ranking third in rushing yards (1,473) and touchdowns (22). The defense has held district opponents in three of five district games to 20 points or less. 

Head Coach Darren Bohlen on bouncing back from G-R game and focus entering matchup.

“Hope that our kids can rebound, maintain a positive attitude this week and and go out and be fundamentally sound,” says Bohlen. “We are in the playoffs so we’re gonna use this week to get better and focus on just us and not worry about Meskwaki. We’re going focus on what we do best.”

Meskwaki Settlement (0-7, 0-5 8-4) lost 52-0 to GMG last week. The Warriors are a sophomore and junior heavy team. The Warriors offense has struggled being held to 8 points or less five games and shutout twice this season. The defense has been overpowered allowing over 50 points in every game this season.

Clarksville won last year’s meeting 48-6 at home.

Kickoff is at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at Meskwaki.
