The Hampton-Dumont-CAL volleyball team will conclude the regular season with Thursday’s North Central Conference finale at Algona.

The Bulldogs (17-10, 4-2 NCC) are coming off three sweeps at Tuesday’s home quad, closing out their home schedule in style. With a chance to finish in the top half of the conference standings, Head Coach Sarah Miller says it’s an important match to help get ready for the postseason.

“We’re going to really focus on Algona,” Miller says. “We want to get that last conference win before the regular season is over. And then we’ve already been kind of starting to talk about Union and what we have to do. We know that we need to bump our speed of our game up. We’ve got to be really quick. We’ve got to be prepared for their hitters, make sure that we have good coverage. So we have a lot of things that we’ve been talking about, things that we need to just fine tune and execute, and we’re going to be ready to go.”

Algona (13-8, 3-3 NCC) battled back from a 2-1 deficit for a 3-2 road win over Bishop Garrigan in an intra-city non-conference match Tuesday. They’ll look to step up their efficiency, having hit just .103 on the season.

A Hampton-Dumont-CAL win would be their first in the series since 2011, having lost 17 straight in the series.

The first serve will be at 7:30 p.m.
