Clarksville Volleyball Begins Class 1A Playoffs at Starmont on Monday

The Clarksville volleyball team will enter a win-or-go-home spot as they begin the Class 1A postseason in a first round match at Starmont on Monday. The match will air on 99 The Wave.

Clarksville (5-27, 0-7 Iowa Star-North) went 1-2 at the Iowa Star Conference Tournament Silver Bracket on Saturday, with a 2-1 win over Colo Nesco and 2-0 losses to Rockford and Waterloo Christian. The Indians rally behind captains Claire Lodge and Hannah Wangsness, top attacker Sidney Jacobs, and defensive specialist Addy Johnson.

Starmont (6-13, 3-4 Tri-Rivers-West) went 0-2 at the Tri-Rivers Conference Tournament on Thursday, with a 2-0 loss to Springville and a 2-1 loss to North Cedar. Josi Munger is the Stars’ top attacker with 255 kills and 23 service aces. IIyssa Schuhmmacher has helped supply scoring opportunities with 359 assists. 

Pre-match coverage begins at 6:40 p.m., followed by the first serve at 7:00 p.m. at Starmont High School.
