“Cats of Iowa!” is the theme for the annual Halloween Hike at the south side of Heery Woods State Park just south of Clarksville set for Tuesday, that is a joint effort of the Butler, Bremer, and Chickasaw County Conservation Boards.

At this event, participants take a short woodland walk at night with stops to meet five characters that have something in common.  The characters will be a bobcat, mountain lion, a civet cat, catfish and caterpillar.

The trail is a crushed lime chip trail suitable for most strollers or wheelchairs, and the event is suitable for all ages and offered for a free will donation.  It includes hot drinks and homemade treats after the hike.

The hikes will be held at 6, 6:15, 6:30, and 6:45pm Tuesday and will begin on the south side of Heery Woods State Park just south of Clarksville.  You must register, and need to include the hike time you would like to be on, by calling 319-346-65-51.
