I was talking about bad Halloween movies yesterday and today with Duane. I have to reshare the 2 that I’ve seen that still stick with me. One is so bad it’s kind of good. Campy horror that makes you laugh because its so ridiculous goes to the 1981 movie The House by the Cemetery. It is an Italian film that has been dubbed to English via voice over work. The little boy named Bob is the true star of the movie as he is TERRIBLE! This movie was included in a Horror movie box set I purchased in the early 2000s. I continued to make my friends, that were also horror fans, watch it to see if they agreed with me. Many did. I believe it is available on Tubi streaming for free right now. I wouldn’t purchase just this movie but if you enjoy campy horror movies like me, check it out. It has a 45% score on Rotten Tomatoes and viewers have given the film a 6.1/10 on IMDB.
Now for a film that is so bad, it’s just plain bad, is Dracula 2000. My friends and I went to watch this in the theaters in 2000. It is directed by Wes Craven so we had high hopes, as we are huge fans of Nightmare on Elm Street and Scream, which are both Wes Craven films. This movie is just plain bad. No redeeming qualities. We would have walked out, but being poor teenagers at the time, we sat through the whole thing, in hopes something would happen to make it worth our time. Gerald Butler plays Dracula, but even he can’t help save this film. I say, don’t waste your time to see this movie. It has a 17% on Rotten Tomatoes and a 4.9/10 on IMDB.
