USDA Rural Development announces a loan to help Butler County

USDA Rural Development today announced that the agency is investing 3-point-8-million dollars in 11 grants and 13-million dollars in 3 loans to projects in Iowa that will spur economic development through rural cooperatives, promote small businesses, and create jobs.

The Butler County Rural Electric Cooperative will receive a 2-million dollar loan to pass through to AMS Memorial, L-L-C to help reopen a skilled nursing and assisted living facility in Greene.  This project will renovate the living facility’s interiors and purchase equipment.

This project is expected to create 34 new jobs.

The project will promote economic development in Butler County, and was funded through the Rural Economic Development Loan and Grant program.
