The West Fork volleyball team will have a rematch against fellow Top of Iowa East member Central Springs for a Class 2A Region 1 quarterfinal on Wednesday.

West Fork (10-13) won its home triangular with a 2-0 win over Clarksville and 2-1 win over Belmond-Klemme to close the regular season on October 14. Brylie Hubka and Leah Weaver have collaborated as top hitters for the Warhawks with 110 kills and 96 kills respectively. Abby Schoning has kept the offense on the go with 297 assists (fifth most in TIC-East).

West Fork Head Coach Emily Greimann on playing with aggression and intensity.

Making sure that when we’re bringing that ball back over the net that we’re doing so in an aggressive and strategic way. Not allowing as many free balls to go over the net so that we can be aggressive and make things harder on them, so that it makes it easier on us,” says Greimann. “Hitting those spots that we need to hit, staying low on defense and getting that ball up so that we can do something with it. Bringing up that intensity so that we’re ready to go.”

Central Springs (23-9) won 3-1 over Forest City in their final regular season match on October 15. Kaci Crum has been a top level producer for the Panthers with a TIC-East leading 263 kills and 79 total blocks. The Panthers have the second best kill efficiency in the conference at .201.

Central Springs won 3-0 in their regular season meeting on October 10.

The winner will advance to face either #1(2A)Denver or AGWSR in a regional semifinal on October 28th.

First serve is at 7:00 p.m. in Manly.
