The #10 (2A) Grundy Center volleyball team had no problems in Wednesday’s 3-0 win over visiting Panorama in a 2A Region 6 quarterfinal.
The Spartans began the night with the most lopsided win of the match, winning it 25-7. In the next two sets, the Panthers put up more of a fight, with identical 25-15 scores in sets 2 and 3.
Grundy Center used efficient serving, with eight aces and four service errors. Ryanne Brubaker led with 12 kills. Jenna Blythe had eight kills; Kayden Muller and Paige Venenga each had six.
The Spartans (24-15) have advanced to Monday’s regional semifinal, where they’ll host Emmetsburg.
