The Clarksville football team will look to dig in for a road playoff win as they visit Riceville in the first round of the 8-Player playoffs on Friday. This will be the first meeting between the programs since 2022. The game will air on 104.9 KLMJ.

Clarksville (6-3) overpowered Meskwaki Settlement for a 58-0 win in their regular season finale last week. The Indians offense has put up a lot of points behind a top five running game with 2,485 yards (fourth most in eight player). Nathan Moon leads the rushing attack with 1,537 rushing yards (third most in eight player) and 24 touchdowns (fourth most in eight player). Kaiven Kielman patrols the defensive backfield with a team leading 65 tackles.

Riceville (7-1) put up big numbers in a 54-6 win over Turkey Valley in their final regular season game last week. Jack Adams has provided a dual threat attack at quarterback for the Wildcats with 725 passing yards, 876 rushing yards and 34 total touchdowns. The Wildcats rank third in eight player in tackles for loss with 73.5 on the season.

Clarksville Head Coach Darren Bohlen says it is an even matchup and notes the importance of containing Wildcats quarterback Jack Adams.

“Survive and advance right now, we got a good matchup with Riceville. I think we’re pretty evenly matched with them and it’s gonna be a good game,” says Bohlen. “Jack Adams is the guy that we need a key on, he’s a good athlete. He’s their leading rusher and he runs the ball extremely well. He’s patient and he finds the holes. We got to be able to contain him and not let him break a big one, make them march down the field and earn whatever they get. Our kids got to be ready. It’s gonna be a different atmosphere with the playoffs, a fun environment to be in.”

Clarksville won the last meeting 94-14 at home in 2022.

Pregame coverage on 104.9 KLMJ will be preceded by Meet the Team show at 5 p.m. The Roling Ford Road to the Dome Warm-up Show is at 6:15 p.m. followed by kickoff at 7:00 p.m. in Riceville.
