Those who had absentee ballots mailed to them for the General Election must either mail them back, or drop them off at your county courthouse.
Alan Tscherter is the Grundy County Auditor.
“We have had some people just drop them off here, which is fine. And you can also vote in our office. It’s still considered absentee voting because you’re not going to be at the polls on election day. But we’re open from 8 to 430 Monday through Friday. We’ll be open on this Saturday from 8 to 5 and also Monday, the day before the election, from 8 to 430. If people can vote here in our office.”
He tells RadioOnTheGo News that if you register to vote on Election Day at a polling site, you need to have certain items with you.
“Right now, really they just need their ID so we can confirm their identity. And it is possible that they might need some additional documentation to prove they live in the county if their driver’s license has a different address than what they tell us. Like you can bring a utility bill, a copy of a lease, a government document, or a pay stub will work. So we can verify that new address.”
Polls are open Tuesday in Iowa from 7am-8pm.
