Tuesday about 6pm the Belmond Fire Department was called out on the report of a garage on fire that was attached to a single story home at 2470 150th Street southwest of Belmond.  No injuries reported.

When firefighters arrived the fire had spread to the home, causing damage to both the garage and house.

Fire departments from Clarion, Goldfield, Kanawha, and Rowan were called for mutual aid for help with manpower and water, along with help from other agencies.

The cause of the fire was a propane gas grill that was in the garage with the garage door open.

Then Wednesday at 4:30am the Belmond Fire Department was called back out to the scene as the fire rekindled, with a few of the other fire departments also responding.  Firefighters ended up spending a total of 10 hours on the scene between the initial fire call and the one from Wednesday.
