37-year-old Brittany Graham of Mason City was sentenced Friday to 37-months in federal prison after she entered a guilty plea to one count of being a prohibited person in possession of firearms.
At her plea hearing in June, Graham admitted that in August of 2022, she possessed four handguns while she was an unlawful user of marijuana. Evidence was presented that showed that Graham had possessed seven handguns since 2018.
Other prohibited persons later possessed some of these guns, including a .357 magnum revolver that was seized from a felon in Chicago less than seven months after Graham purchased it.
There is no parole in the federal court system.
