ap-large-2

The Aplington-Parkersburg School District’s bond referendum has failed, with 55.59 percent of votes against it. 1,128 votes favored the measure, and 1,412 voted no.

The public measure asked voters if the district should issue general obligation bonds not to exceed $16,500,000 to renovate the Aplington building and to convert the high school into a grade 7-12 building.

The measure needed at least 60 percent approval to pass.
