38-year-old Jared Russell Rigdon of Waverly was sentenced Wednesday to 30-years in federal prison after he had entered a guilty plea in March to one count of sexual exploitation of a child and one count of distribution of child pornography.
Evidence showed that between January of 2022 and March 22nd, 2023, Rigdon downloaded and distributed files of child porn using BitTorrent, a peer-to-peer network, as well as Kik.
Forensic review of his electronic devices discovered over 120-thousand images of child sexual abuse materials.
There is no parole in the federal court system.
