Thursday, the Clarion-Goldfield-Dows School Board met in regular session and during his superintendent report, Joe Nelson gave the board an update on enrollment. Nelson stated that certified enrollment is up two students this year compared to 2023-24.
In other business, Nelson spoke on the varsity girls basketball situation. Nelson stated that there are 12 freshmen out for basketball and C-G-D will not field a girls varsity basketball team this year. In minutes from Thursday’s meeting, it was stated that Clarion-Goldfield-Dows will play a JV schedule this season with the intention of playing a varsity schedule next year.
