The Hampton-Dumont-CAL girls wrestling team competed for the first time as an independent program, and won 30-24 at Webster City in a dual Monday.
Due to several open weights for both teams, only two varsity matches were contested. At 125, Hampton-Dumont-CAL’s Marlee Maas was defeated by Marlee Thompson by fall in 0:20. At 170, the Bulldogs got a win by Elsie Kuper, a 1:43 fall over Kate Feltz.
At 1-0, the Bulldogs will return to action Saturday at a tournament at Emmetsburg.
