West Fork Head Coach Onni Prestidge on the opportunity to compete.

“We have a very young and energetic team. The biggest thing that we asked going into tonight was to punch first and punch hard. Every single one of our girls seemed to get the first attack, seemed to get the first tie up. It was their tie up, it was their attack, that’s all we can ask,” says Prestidge. “The next biggest thing is seeing what wrestling is like, they’ve seen it now. To be able to go out and compete when your friends are worried about the spotlight. They can see that you went out on your own, competed, did everything you could, and you’re smiling at the end. That’s what this is about.”

West Fork was led on the night by Fernanda Ramirez who went 3-0 with three falls and Josi Janssen who went 2-0 with two falls.

West Fork returns to the mat to take part in Emmetsburg tournament on Saturday.
