The Grundy Center girls basketball team pulled away early to roll to a 49-25 home win over BCLUW in Monday’s season opener.
It was a dominant defensive performance, holding the Comets to four points in the first quarter. BCLUW’s first and only field goal of the second quarter came three seconds before halftime, and it was 28-9 at the break. Grundy Center used consistent scoring in the second half and never let the game become competitive as they cruised to the opening night win.
Karlee Lynch and Ava Mundt each led with 13 points, and Caturella Brown added 11. The Spartans (1-0) will return to action Tuesday, December 3 by hosting #10 (2A) Denver.
