Monday night the Hampton City Council approved the final pay request for the 2024 Water Main Improvement Project, which was funded with American Rescue Plan Act funds, for $91,329.
The Hampton council approved a resolution accepting the water main improvement project.
City Manager Ron Dunt also asked the Hampton City Council to consider referring to the Planning and Zoning Commission a request to vacate the 500 block of 1st Street Southeast.
The council voted 5-1 to refer the matter to the commission, with council member Pat Palmer casting the no vote.
