Little change in this week’s U-S Drought Monitor Report for Iowa.
The coverage areas for both the abnormally dry and moderate drought categories increased slightly, while the coverage area for severe drought dropped over one percent to 1-point-3.
The severe drought covers portions of three counties in western Iowa.
A majority of the broadcast area remains in a moderate drought.
Three months ago over 62 percent of Iowa was drought free.
