The board of directors of the Christmas Cheer Fund met Monday and went through close to 19-hundred applications and almost 80-thousand dollars in Target gift cards have already been approved.
The deadline to apply for funds is Friday, while donations continue to be accepted.
The Christmas Cheer Fund covers 7 counties in north Iowa, including Cerro Gordo and Franklin.
