Parkersburg’s second annual Jolly Jamboree will begin Thursday.
“Last year was the first year of the Jolly Jamboree, and we had beautiful weather and we know that helped,” organizer Marcie Sharp says. “But we had so many people in Parkersburg, and what great comments that we had, so we decided to do it again and actually expand this year.”
On Thursday, a community tree lighting will be held at Parkersburg Historical Home at 6:30 p.m., which will include a Cub Scouts fundraiser and Christmas carols. Tours will be available from 7:00 to 8:30.
Events will continue Saturday at Kothe Memorial Library, the Veterans Memorial Building and at various businesses. A lighted parade will be at 5:30 p.m. Saturday, running from the United Methodist Church to the vet’s building, where a free-will meal will be served.
