One of the highest wind gusts in Iowa from Wednesday was reported at the Eastern Iowa Airport in Cedar Rapids at 66 miles per hour.
Other wind gusts included 63 miles per hour at the Des Moines International Airport, 58 miles per hour at several locations, including at the Mason City Municipal Airport, and at the airport in Waterloo.
These winds were not from any thunderstorms, just from the colder air rushing into the state.
