The AP/GC boys wrestling team went 2-1 at Thursday’s quad hosted by #23 (2A) Union. The Falcons defeated Vinton-Shellsburg 54-30, beat North Tama 58-24 and lost to Union 51-27.
In the dual with Vinton-Shellsburg, all nine Falcon wins were by fall, only two of which lasted longer than the first period. Against North Tama, AP/GC had five wins by forfeit, four wins by fall and one major decision. Against Union, AP/GC had a decision, two falls and two wins by forfeit, but lost by fall six times and had two technical fall losses.
Carter Liston, Matthew Luiken, Parker Mulder, Kellen Reints and Creyton Eberhart each went 2-1. Hunter McBride, Kyle Sietz and Jesse Brouwer each went 3-0.
AP/GC will return to action Friday at a tournament at Humboldt.
