Local businesses take part in holiday themed promotions

The Greater Franklin County Chamber of Commerce has been working with local businesses on different holiday promotions, like today’s Holly Dazzle-Candy Cane Blizzard of Savings event in downtown Hampton.

Russ Gibson owns Christensen Jewelry, and tells RadioOnTheGo News why it is important to take advantage of promotions year round.

“It’s paramount for our business because it’s important to the community. And whenever we have these events where there’s specialty shops or the Chamber of Commerce and they’re putting something together, I’m always, we’re always in and we have been since the day I bought the store. I always consider if my neighbor does well and the community does well, I will do well. It doesn’t necessarily make the cash register ring that day, but if it does for my neighbor, it’s good for all of us.”

Emma Calles is Marketing Director of First Bank Hampton.

“I think for a small community it’s important to kind of get people to motivate them to shop locally because that is the future of our communities. We heavily participate in local activities and things like this are just awesome. And we get our staff excited about it as well. We had like a little hurrah kickoff about here are the candy canes if anyone comes in and then also encourage people that some of the guys that might not shop locally can shop locally for their spouses or kids and encourage them to shop local.”
