A 38-year-old Hampton man has entered into a plea agreement after he allegedly posted flyers at Hispanic-owned businesses in Hampton in August.
Daniel Embree was arrested August 15th after the state claimed he posted flyers on the doors of the businesses that included the words “USA illegal immigrant hunting permit” on August 13th. Law enforcement also stated that the same sort of flyer was posted at a private residence in Hampton on June 1st.
Embree was originally charged with nine counts of first degree harassment, one count of trespass-hate crime, and 8 counts of 5th degree criminal mischief. As part of his plea deal, he entered guilty pleas to all 8 5th degree criminal mischief charges, and as well as to the one trespass charge. All the remaining charges were dismissed by the court.
His sentencing has been set for January 27th beginning at 9:30am in Hampton.
