West Fork Dance Team Wins Four Titles, Has Strong Individual Performances at State Dance Friday

The West Fork girls dance team put the program on the map again with a great morning of competition at the Iowa State Dance and Drill Team Association State Championships in Des Moines on Friday

 In the team race, the Warhawks won four state titles. The first was in Class IV Pom with a Division I rating, scoring a total of 355 points, to finish ahead of runner-up Westwood who had a total of 328 points. The second title was in Class III Hip-Hop with a Division I rating and a score of 381 points, to place ahead of runner-up Waterloo Columbus Catholic who had 372.5 points. The third was in Class II Jazz with a Division I rating and a score of 350.5 points, to place ahead of North Linn who had 341 points. The final title of the day was in Class I The Mix with a Division I rating and a score of 364 points, to finish ahead of runner-up Carroll Kuemper Catholic with 364 points. 

Individually in the Class II Dance Finals, Kylin Johnson was the state champion, Adra Johnson was the runner-up, Emerli Johnson placed third and Nahla Wilson also medaled with a sixth place finish.

The West Fork dance team will return to the floor over the course of winter sports season performing during halftime at Warhawk basketball games.
