The certified enrollment number was reviewed this week by the Iowa Falls School Board, and it shows the district is down 37 students, and down almost 56 served.

Iowa Falls Superintendent Tony Neumann tells RadioOnTheGo News that they lost students in almost every grade level and graduated a larger class.

Alden is also sending less students as part of the Whole Grade Sharing agreement between the two districts.

Neumann says the Iowa Falls School District will be on a budget guarantee for next year, so they will have a 1 percent increase in funding, but the actual impact will depend on the Supplemental State Aid for the next 2 years and enrollment the year after.

The district is projecting a minimum shortfall of 250-thousand dollars in funding, one year from now, and that does not incorporate any salary increases for staffing.
