Hampton City Council Approves Amended Agreement with Public Works Director Doug Tarr

Thursday, the Hampton City Council approved a resolution, amending the current employment agreement between the city and Hampton Public Works Director, Doug Tarr. The city amended Tarr’s current employment agreement dated July 1st, 2020 by amending the term ending date of June 30th, 2025 to December 31st, 2024. 

The city council also approved a new employment agreement with Tarr, dated January 1st, 2025 through December 31st, 2029. The annual base salary as of January 1st, 2025 will be $87,000 with a three percent increase for the remainder of the contract annually. The council approved the agreement on a 5-1 vote with councilmember Barry Lamos voting no. 

In other business, the Hampton City Council approved an amendment to the Airport Hangar Lease Agreement and approved a motion to proceed with a plan to structurally repair the property at 4 and 6 1st Street NW. Total estimated cost for the work would be $498,000.
