Some power outages and tree damage are likely due to the ice and wind. Travel could be nearly impossible.
A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Hancock and Wright Counties from 4pm today until noon Saturday, while a Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Cerro Gordo, Franklin, Butler, and Hardin Counties from 8pm today until noon Saturday.
Mixed precipitation is expected, with total ice accumulations up to two tenths of an inch, and snow and sleet accumulations up to one inch. Be prepared for slippery roads. Slow down and be careful while driving. If you are going outside, watch your first few steps taken on stairs, sidewalks, and driveways.
