The Iowa Capital Dispatch is reporting that opponents of the Summit Carbon Solutions Pipeline project have received cease and desist letters from Summit.
One of those to receive a letter was Jess Manzour, a conservation program associate with the Sierra Club Iowa Chapter, for allegedly making any further false and defamatory statements about the pipeline project.
Up to six people have received similar letters.
Manzour says her and the Sierra Club believe Summit Carbon Solutions has no legal grounds to stand on in threatening a lawsuit.
