Friday the Iowa Economic Development Authority Board approved a Community Attraction and Tourism, or CAT grant, to the Grundy County Conservation Board of 214-thousand dollars.
The funding will help to pave the remaining 1-point-3 miles of trail that will complete the 7-mile stretch of the Pioneer Trail between Reinbeck and Grundy Center.
The 12-mile trail will interlink four communities and several recreational trails along the route.
The total project cost is nearly 1-point-1-million dollars.
