The Dike-New Hartford boys wrestling team went 2-1 at its home dual tournament Saturday. The Wolverines defeated Marshalltown 52-21, Van Buren County 66-18 and fell to #1 (2A) Mount Vernon 71-11.
Against Marshalltown, the Wolverines won 10 matches, including five pins. Those who won by fall included Conner Weedman at 113, Kaizin Eberhart at 138, Dax Weedman at 144, Gavin Gerbracht at 157 and Tate DeBuhr at 285.
DNH won just two matches against Mount Vernon. Conner Weedman earned a 1:24 pin at 113 and Eberhart won a 17-1 tech fall in 4:00 at 138.
The Wolverines were dominant against Van Buren County, with seven pins and four wins by forfeit. The pins were by Sully O’Neil at 106, Colt Roger at 120, Karson VanHeiden at 132, Dax Weedman at 144, Gerbracht at 157, Logan Hayes at 165 and Lew Textor at 215.
Dike-New Hartford (8-1) will return to action Tuesday, January 7 at a triangular at Jesup that’ll also include BCLUW-SH.
