Saturday about 7:20pm the Cerro Gordo County Sheriff’s Department was called out on the report of a two vehicle accident in the area of Partridge Avenue and 105th Street just north of Sheffield.
30-year-old Trent William Abbas of Wellsburg was traveling south on Partridge Avenue driving a 2022 GMC Sierra, while at the same time, 33-year-old Scott William Weydert of Rockwell was traveling north on Partridge driving a 2000 Buick Lesabre.
Both vehicles collided in the 1-thousand block of Partridge Avenue, also known as Highway 65, by sideswiping one another.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts, and were taken to MercyOne North Iowa Medical Center for treatment of unknown injuries.
Dense fog was a contributing factor in the collision, as both vehicles were totaled.
