North Butler-Clarksville Boys Wrestling Closed 2024 on a High Note

The North Butler-Clarksville boys wrestling team entered holiday break on a high note after sweeping a Top of Iowa Conference triangular over Garner-Hayfield-Ventura and Rockford on December 19 and having four medalists at Jones Brother Invitational on Saturday, December 21.

“It’s just one of those things where we’ve been working hard, now we want to see what the kids can do,” says Holm. “We talked about that, some of them stepped up and showed us what they’re really made of in competition. As a coach, that’s all you can ask for. I’m proud of them for that.”

Returning state qualifier sophomore Carl Shew is 8-1 at 113 with three falls, two technical falls and three wins by forfeit, freshman Maddox Morrison is 10-5 at 132 with six falls, three technical falls, one win by forfeit and senior Jaxson Miller is 11-6 between 138 and 144 with four falls, one technical fall, one major decision, four decisions and one win by forfeit to lead NBC. 

North Butler-Clarksville (4-3) will open their 2025 slate with a Top of Iowa Conference quad at West Fork on Thursday, January 9.
