MercyOne patients who have Aetna Insurance will not face out-of-network costs after the hospital reached an agreement with the national provider on New Year’s Eve.
MercyOne patients were notified in November that if the health care system and Aetna failed to reach a new contract agreement before the end of 2024, all of MercyOne’s providers and facilities would be considered outside Aetna’s network beginning January 1st.
But MercyOne announced Tuesday in a news release that it had reached a multi-year agreement with Aetna, allowing patients to maintain in-network access to MercyOne’s hospitals and other facilities.
