The Aplington-Parkersburg robotics team will be hosting two league meets today and tomorrow.  Both events are free and open to the public.

Aplington-Parkersburg is a member of the FIRST Tech Challenge, or FTC, Iowa Baltic Sea League along with 26 other teams from northeastern Iowa.  Matches begin about 6pm today and will continue Saturday at 10am.

Each match begins with a 30-second autonomous period where robots move based on pre-programmed commands.  This is followed by a 2-minute driver-controlled period where team members work with their alliance partner to score as many points as possible.

The 2024-25 game is INTO THE DEEP presented by RTX, which is an ocean-themed challenge.

Teams will compete in 3-5 league meets before the league tournament held on February 8th in Cedar Falls.
