Belmond-Klemme Meets Conference Leader Forest City for Doubleheader on Friday

The Belmond-Klemme girls and boys basketball teams will host first place Forest City in a Top of Iowa Conference West doubleheader to lead off their 2025 on Friday. The girls will look for their first win in the series since 2009 and the boys for their first win since 2014 over the Indians.

Belmond-Klemme girls (4-3, 2-3 TIC-West) enters as winners of the four of their last five, including a 58-28 conference win over North Iowa on December 20. The Broncos keep the ball moving on offense with 12 assists per game. Adasyn Lamb is averaging 16 points and Quinn Gabrielson adds 14 to lead the Broncos.

#4(3A)Forest City girls (9-0, 5-0 TIC-West) won 68-28 over West Hancock in conference on December 20. The Indians bring strong pressure with 17 steals per game. The Indians double figure scorers include Colette Loges with 15 points and Hayden Brown has 13 points per game.

Belmond-Klemme boys (4-3, 2-3 TIC-West) have won four of their last five including a 68-51 conference win over North Iowa on December 20th. The Broncos have put in extra work to produce second chances to score with 14 offensive rebounds. Brody Heifner leads with 16 points followed by Kysen Lamb with 15.6 per game.

“I really like where we’re at as a team, we’re starting to come together and figure some things out,” says Meyer. “I think the next part of this year, there’s the opportunity to get a lot of wins. At the very least, playing a lot of close games that I think are gonna really pay dividends for us down the stretch in the year. We will be playing a lot of competitive games against tough competition.”

Forest City boys (6-1, 5-0 TIC-West) has won four of their last five including a 65-26 conference win over West Hancock on December 20th. The Indians do a good job of sharing the ball with 17.6 assists per game. Ty Dillavou and Holden Reynolds lead with 12 points per game apiece.

Action begins at 6:15 p.m. in Belmond.
