The #13 (3A) Hampton-Dumont-CAL girls basketball team will begin its 2025 portion of the schedule undefeated and tied for the lead in the North Central Conference. At 8-0 and 4-0 in conference play, the Bulldogs have won in a variety of ways. Head Coach Miranda Stafford says there’s some clear objectives for the start of 2025.

“We need to clean up our defense a little bit,” Stafford says. “We’ve given up a little bit here and there, and so just talk about different situations. But continue to look and take each game, one game at a time. We’ve got North Butler coming out, so we’ll get ready for them. And then we’ll move on to the next game. But just getting some shots up, continue to work at the free throw line. I think we’ve improved there on our free throw shooting, being able to keep us in games and battle throughout games.”

Jordan Valley and Brooklyn Valley have been crisp from three-point range, with both shooting over 30 percent. The team has stepped up defensively with a league-leading 15.5 steals per game to limit opponent scoring opportunities.

They’ll resume the season Monday by hosting North Butler.
