NIACC says it will partner with La Luz Centro Cultural in Hampton and will offer English as a Second Language, or ESL classes in Hampton. This program is specifically designed for adults 18 and older whose first language is not English, aiming to improve their speaking, reading, writing and listening skills in a supportive, friendly environment.
NIACC officials say these sessions are structured to cater to various proficiency levels, from beginners to more advanced learners, ensuring that each participant can learn at a pace that suits them best. Class sessions are 8 weeks and attendance is mandatory. Students continue to enroll in sessions until they have mastered the English language. The first 12 individuals will be enrolled in the class, if more than 12 people are interested, a waiting list will be started.
An open house and required orientation will be held on January 14th from 5-8pm at La Luz Centro Cultural in Hampton, and classes will continue to meet there on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 5-8pm. For more information go to niacc.edu, or call 641-422-42-78.
