Monday, the Rowan City Council voted to keep the mileage reimbursement rate at 62.5 cents per mile and approved to keep the same pay rates for city employees in 2025.
In other business, the Rowan City Council met with library director Josephine Miller who shared the plans for activities and goals in 2025. Miller also presented the fiscal year 2026 budget with a $550 decrease in expenses, mostly due to a change in telephone providers. The council then approved to pay the library the same amount as they did in 2024.
During the meeting, Mark Bruns was appointed as mayor pro tem for 2025. Dale Hollman was appointed to serve on the landfill board and Mayor Lennea Groom will serve on the EMS Commission.
